On October 4th, Spaces officially celebrated its 10 year anniversary. And because one day just isn’t enough to honour ten years of trials and errors, the successes and the not-so successes, and of course all the fun in the world, we’re using all of October to celebrate. And we have good reason to.
Spaces10
It all started in a modest, empty Amsterdam canal house at the Herengracht. Spaces was founded on the belief that success breeds more success, while being surrounded with likeminded people who believe in what they do. All while being in a place that feels like more than simply a place to work. A place that feels like home. And it’s that shared passion and homeliness that enabled us to celebrate 10 years of Spaces. So, what better place to host a party than right here, at the place where it all began? In the company of some of the most loyal members, employees and Spaces founders Martijn Roordink and Frederique Keuning, Spaces Herengracht hosted a night to remember. On to another decade of Spaces.
The power of 10
A lot can change in ten years, and when it comes to Spaces, it’s best noticed when looking at a list of all locations that have opened its doors in the past years. From one location in Amsterdam, to over a hundred locations all around the world. Whether work takes you to Paris, New York, Hong Kong or Rio, there’s a Spaces to go to. Honouring this thought, The Power of 10 is a unique concept where we asked 10 artists from The Netherlands to create 10 different pieces of art. These artworks will feature in an exhibition in Amsterdam before being transferred to 10 different Spaces in 10 different cities around the world. Following the same path as Spaces itself has.
