Fair enough, Spaces Whiteley is Fareham’s hidden coworking gem.

People meeting in a designer meeting room

A town noted for producing the bricks that built the stunning Royal Albert Hall, it’s no surprise that Fareham is playing centre stage in the coworking revolution.

Port to success

Spaces Whiteley recently opened in the town and it’s not just a picturesque business hub but also a state-of-the-art facility designed to encourage some good old entrepreneurial joie de vivre. Located halfway between the famous port cities of Southampton and Portsmouth, Fareham makes it easy for businesses to set sail on a voyage of success. Right at the heart of two thriving hub cities. Fareham boasts a high street that perfectly blends historical buildings and modern stores, as it lets you experience restaurants and pubs along with a lively entertainment scene. Dashing.

With lots already to be proud of, the town’s latest addition is the brand-new coworking hub at Solent Business Park. “We opened in July and had our opening showcase event in September, catered with great canapés by our deli, with live music, and opening completed by the Mayor of Fareham,” says Katherine Hankinson, Community Manager.

Thanks to its location between two major ports, getting around is made simple due to excellent transport options and easy access to the motorway. “The location is perfect,” Hankinson adds. “It’s just off the M27 corridor between Southampton and Portsmouth, meaning our centre is ideally located for both cities.”

The perfect blend of business

What really makes it stand out is the great mix of businesses that call it home. “The sense of community makes it special,” says Hankinson. “Many of our members’ businesses interlink so they can set up great business networks within the location. The business park is a mix of large corporations like Specsavers, but also smaller companies, so being on the business park brings you close to a wide selection of companies.”

Our Spaces are designed to be more than just coworking offices. They’re communities with a full calendar of business events, speakers and networking lunches designed to get people talking and doing business with one other. Fostering creativity and that entrepreneurial spirit is made all the easier due to Fareham’s location and proximity to local amenities. It’s not just the business park’s acres of green space which are impressive, but the nearby Whiteley Church Garden as well.

“Whiteley is within a designed business park with plenty of green spaces and lakes to enjoy,” says Hankinson, adding: “With Whiteley Shopping centre based a few minutes away as well with plenty of restaurants for lunch too!”

Fun on Fareham’s fairway

All work and no play can slow those creative juices so it’s important to relax and have fun too. This is another area where Whitely really punches above its weight. Members are only a short drive from the Skylark Golf and Country Club – perfect if you’re in the mood for a quick round on the fairway.

Convenience is key – if heading out to one of the eateries isn’t on the cards because you’re too busy with all that new work coming your way, you can even have your food delivered right to your desk. And if all that’s not food for thought enough, how about chowing down on some of the events lined up in the future? “We have monthly community breakfast events and next month we will be hosting pizza and quiz to raise funds for an inspirational charity. And we’re doing Movember too!” Hankinson says with a smile.

Whatever the size and nature of your business, find your ideal location at Spaces Whiteley.
