Carlos Trenchs Sainz de la Maza is the Director at dayOne, the banking division at CaixaBank focused on technological companies and its investors. He previously was the Managing Director of Caixa Capital Risc, the venture capital division of the “la Caixa” group.
With a degree in Business Administration from the UB and an MBA from Esade and NYU, Carlos has developed his professional career with technological start-ups. First in the deregulation of the telecommunications market and later in collaboration with serial entrepreneur Didac Lee in the field of internet.
At the end of 2004 he joined “la Caixa” to promote the area of entrepreneurs and seed capital. Since then, Caixa Capital Risc established itself as one of the leading investors in Spain in the early stages of innovative companies with more than € 160bn under management in the fields of Life Sciences, Industrial Technologies and Digital.
In addition to investing, it organizes the EmprendedorXXI award (from “la Caixa” and the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce), which in its nine editions is a reference in the field of entrepreneurship in Spain.
