The office is a place where most workers spend a lot of their time. A place where you come together to work, discuss, meet and get things done. Having the flexibility to move around in your workplace is a great way to boost productivity. However there are times when you need more room, because you want to work with your project team, need to give a presentation to prospective clients, or share an update with a client.
It’s nice if you have the option to seek out other surroundings. At Spaces we have our business club which is also open for tenants to use, but if you need more privacy our meeting rooms are a great option. The Spaces meeting rooms are available on-demand for members and non-members. Although, Spaces members do receive a special discounted rates. And easy to book via our portal or that friendly receptionist that you like. But enough about us, what about your next meeting? We want to help you boost your meetings to new heights, with these 5 simple tips:
- Use technology
If you use of a meeting room, make use of the facilities on offer. If there’s a screen, use it, but do make sure that you have something worth looking at. An attractive looking presentation on a big screen will keep everyone on board. And with full WiFi for everyone, you can easily share the presentation to all attendees. - Stay refreshed
Start your meeting with fresh barista made coffee, or order large pots of coffee and tea in your room. But when you do, don’t forget to add some mineral water as presenting and conversing can make you thirsty. - Sit strategically
Think about how you’d like to sit and what the best set-up of the room is. Sometimes sitting at a roundtable is great for open discussion, an U-shaped setting is best for presenting and theatre-style is best for speeches for larger groups. If you are the presentator or host, make yourself available to welcome and greet your guests. - Leave the room
Nothing beats a mental block than a great cup of coffee and a stretch of your legs. So plan your lunch break and afternoon coffee outside the meeting room. This gives people the opportunity to mingle, move around a bit and come back a bit refreshed. - Take notes
When in a meeting, always have pen and paper close, and your laptop closed. Write down your notes instead of typing them and ‘accidentally’ opening your emails.
And the biggest tip we can give, host meeting that people actually look forward to. Want to check out our options for your next meeting?
