Power of 10 – Calling All Artists

INTRO

Spaces was founded in 2008 from a need to create a working environment that is stimulating, inspiring and fun. A place to work, meet and connect with likeminded others. Our locations are designed around a social heart and we cherish our community of creators and thinkers.

We believe that our beautiful workspaces support and stimulate flexibility and interaction by creating new ways to work and collaborate. Spaces offers both a functional and inviting interior, with high end design furniture, custom-build work solutions and a warm colour palette. On top of that, we love to share our distinct choice for art. From these artworks, we take inspiration which stimulates new ways of thinking, boosts creativity and helps clear the mind. Not only do we have a lot of art in our Spaces, we also organize events together with museums (like Stedelijk Museum and FOAM), from which we learn and it help us in expanding our horizons.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS

This year, Spaces celebrates its 10 year anniversary. For this occasion, Spaces launches an Open Call to upcoming visual artists from (or residing in) the Netherlands.

We want to create a special anniversary art collection: Power of 10. This special collection will consist of 10 artworks by 10 different artists. Power of 10 collection will be spread over 10 key cities all over the world, including one in Amsterdam. Visual artists from all disciplines (no works with a plug) are encouraged to submit a maximum of 5 (new) artworks to become part of the collection Power of 10.

A panel consisting of renowned artist curators and the creative director of Spaces, will select one work of 10 finalists. Spaces will then acquire the 10 selected works for this special collection, Power of 10.

THE DETAILS

The works should have an edition of minimal 10, available either as print or as a multiple. Selected artists will be promoted throughout Spaces platforms, selected partner-platforms and their work becomes part of Spaces collection at the 10 designated worldwide Spaces key locations. Additionally, your name, biography and your selected work will be published in our Spaces 10 Years Art catalogue and distributed worldwide. We offer you the opportunity to have your selected art works used on limited edition products to be added to the Spaces Anniversary Product line. A short video portrait will be made of each artist, as stated in a license contract. Funding of €10.000 per artist is made available: including artist fee, production costs, framing and transportation of the artworks to Amsterdam.
