It’s all well and good that technology is benefiting athletes on a regular basis. But what about us that aren’t quite that blessed with sporting genes or a knack for perfection? What happens if we really enjoy watching sport, or merely want to find a means of partaking in a fitness activity we actually enjoy? Well of course, just like technology has the answer to virtually everything else, it’s also the answer to these questions too.
Finding the perfect fit.
Exercise can be daunting. You could be starting out for the first time, or have taken a too long of a break to get back into it. I mean, there’s just so much to it. Finding the time, finding the motivation, finding the clothes to fit, and finding something that suits you. That’s where apps and programmes like OneFit come in. Banishing the once tedious aspects to exercise, OneFit gets rid of buying into a yearly contract, gives you a taster of what’s on offer in your local area, and allows you to plan a realistic schedule that lets you handpick exercise at a time that suits you (even based on your location). Hello 2018.
Never miss a thing.
It’s match day. With only 10 minutes to go until full time you’ve got the painstaking decision of missing the toilet rush, or missing the toilet all together. And yes, once again, the wonderful realms of technology makes this decision a bit easier – providing your stadium is up to date. Smart Stadiums are taking things to the next level, allowing you to find the nearest (and shortest) toilet queue, and if you’re really lucky, ordering a beverage straight to your seat.
A different perspective.
It would be very ideal, even for those who actually enjoy exercise (I envy you), if the experience could sometimes be turned on its head, defy the norms. Well, we’re one step closer to that too. Ventures like Rocycle let us train to our favourite music, run classes from dusk till dawn and even chuck in a slice of romance – candlelight. A high intensity work out in a fairly tranquil setting, you say?
