A language and culture enthusiast who is by no means shy of words or wisdom. Frits Philips, Faculty Member and Head of Professional Programmes at The School of Life is here on February 13th to share a taste of his creative medicine.
There’s one hell of a lot to be learned from a copywriter. From digging yourself out of a writer’s block to being able to turn an instruction manual into a recipe for liquid gold, creativity stretches much further than pen (or paintbrush) to paper. Frits Philips studied Japanese and Culture at the University of Leiden before working as a writer and concept developer. His passion for languages and cultures acted as a driving force for him to turn his passion and creative flare into reality when he gathered a bunch of translators and begun his own company Timely Translators.
A creative mind encapsulates skill, organisation and just the right ratio of daydreaming: doing. It allowed him to explore values and purpose to people’s work, which eventually resulted in him transitioning to becoming a coach and offering others a taste of his creativity and psychological exploration. His drive and commitment is something to be admired and also something to be envied. Luckily for us, he now shares his passion with The School of Life which means we can get on board too.
